Symptoms

In Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 with Service Pack 1 (SP1), you try to open a Web page that dynamically downloads a script from a URL. However, the script is not downloaded, and you receive the following error message:
Microsoft Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Cause

This problem may occur when either of the following conditions is true:
  • The script cannot be downloaded from the URL that is specified. For example, the script does not exist at this URL.
  • The URL that is specified is not available. For example, the URL is invalid.

Resolution
