You may receive a "No windows Terminal Server Name is setup" message when you click a task in Business Portal with Microsoft Dynamics GP or Microsoft Dynamics SL

Resolution 1

1. Start Business Portal, and then locate the Terminal Services setup window. To do this, follow these steps:
   • If you are running Business Portal for Microsoft Dynamics GP 10 or for Microsoft Dynamics SL 7.0, click Site Actions, click Sites Settings, and then click E-mail and Terminal Services.
   • If you are running Business Portal 3.0 or Business Portal 2.x, click Site Settings, click General Settings, and then click Setup Back Office Terminal Server Access.
2. In the Windows Terminal Server to use for Internet Explorer access box, type the name of the terminal server.
3. In the Path and file name of the initial application to start when the user logs in to Terminal Services box, type the following depending on which application you are using, and then click Save:
   • If you are running Microsoft Dynamics GP, type the path of the Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics.exe file and the path of the Dynamics.set file on the terminal server. By default, these files are located in the following locations depending on the version that you are running:
     • If you are running Microsoft Business Solutions - Great Plains 8.0, the default path to enter is C:\Program Files\Microsoft Business Solutions\Great Plains\Dynamics.exe C:\Program Files\Microsoft Business Solutions\Great Plains\Dynamics.set.
     • If you are running Microsoft Dynamics GP 9.0 or Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0, the default path to enter is C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics\GP\Dynamics.exe C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics\GP\Dynamics.set.
     Note You can also copy the path from the shortcut for Microsoft Great Plains. To verify the path, right-click the Microsoft Great Plains shortcut on the desktop. Then, click Properties. Copy the path from the Target box. You have to remove the quotation marks when you paste the path in Microsoft Business Portal.
   • If you are running Microsoft Dynamics SL, type the following:
     C:\PathName\sdwtsshell.exe /s.
     
     Note In this step, PathName is a placeholder for the path of the Microsoft Dynamics SL application.
4. After you configure terminal server access, verify that you can click any task on a center page without receiving the message that is mentioned in the "Symptoms" section.
   
   Note The Terminal Server client program opens to connect you to the terminal server that is specified on the Site Settings page. Log on to the terminal server by using a terminal server local account that has administrative permissions on this computer. After you log on to the terminal server, Microsoft Great Plains starts automatically, and then prompts you for a user ID. After you enter the user ID and the password, the Microsoft Great Plains window that corresponds to the link that you clicked in Microsoft Business Portal opens.

Resolution 2

1. Click Start, click Run, type appwiz.cpl, and then click OK.
2. In the Add and Remove Programs window, click Add/Remove Windows Components.
3. Click to select the following two options:
   • Terminal Server
   • Terminal Server Licensing
