You may be able to put a Microsoft Windows XP-based or a Microsoft Windows Server 2003-based computer on standby while you are copying a file to an Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI)-compliant device. For example, you may be copying a file to an attached USB floppy disk drive.
In this scenario, Windows will try to complete the file copy procedure when the computer resumes from standby. This behavior does not occur when you copy a file to a legacy device, such as an internal floppy disk drive, that is not power managed by the system.

To avoid this behavior, wait until the files have finished copying to the ACPI-compliant device before you put the computer on standby.
