Symptoms

When you install Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1) in disaster recovery mode on a computer that is running Microsoft Windows Server 2003, the hotfix that is described in Microsoft Knowledge Base article 831464 is not installed.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, use one of the following methods.

Method 1

Install Exchange Server 2003 SP1 in disaster recovery mode. Then, install the hotfix as described in Knowledge Base article 831464.

Method 2

Install Windows Server 2003 SP1 on your computer. Windows Server 2003 SP1 contains the hotfix that is described in Knowledge Base article 831464.
