Resolution

To resolve this issue, follow these steps.

Note Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, see your product documentation to complete these steps.
  1. Clear the temporary Internet files by using Microsoft Internet Explorer. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Start Internet Explorer.
    2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
    3. Under Temporary Internet files, click Delete files, and then click OK to confirm that you want to delete the temporary Internet files.
    4. Click OK to close the Internet Options dialog box.
  2. Delete all the *.web files in the Web Server Extensions cache folder. To do this, follow these steps.

Note The *.web files are created by Microsoft FrontPage to store metadata that is used to communicate with a Web site. When you delete these files, FrontPage creates new versions of these files as they are required.
    1. Click Start, click Run, type %USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Web Server Extensions\Cache in the Open box, and then click OK.
    2. On the Edit menu, click Select All.
    3. On the File menu, click Delete, and then click Yes to confirm that you want to delete the files.
  3. Delete all FrontPageTempDir folders. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Click Start, and then click Search.
    2. Click All files and folders.
    3. In All or part of the file name box, type Frontpagetempdir.
    4. Click More advanced options, and then click to select any one of the following options that are not already selected:
      • Search system folders
      • Search hidden files and folders
      • Search subfolders
    5. Click Search, and then wait for the search to finish.
    6. On the Edit menu, click Select All.
    7. On the File menu, click Delete, and then click Yes to confirm that you want to delete the folders.
