FIX: The Product Catalog Import DTS task may fail when you try to import large catalogs in Commerce Server 2002

Symptoms

In Microsoft Commerce Server 2002, the Product Catalog Import DTS task may fail when you try to import large catalogs. Additionally, the following event messages are logged in the Application log:

Error : Catalog DTS task : Error in DataToId()

Error : Catalog DTS task : Cannot read the catalogs hirarchy

Note In this error message, "hirarchy" is a misspelling for the word "hierarchy."

Warning: Maximum SQL record size exceeded for Class name: RegisteredUser, Total size: 8232

Warning: Maximum SQL record size exceeded for Class name: OrderFormHeader, Total size: 12318

Resolution

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article.
