Symptoms

In Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2004, if you change the UDP protocol direction in a server publishing rule, the change may not take effect.

Workaround

To work around this problem, restart the Microsoft Firewall service after you modify the server publishing rule. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, click Run, type services.msc in the Open box, and then press ENTER.
  2. In the right pane of the Services window, right-click Microsoft Firewall, and then click Restart.
