Hotfix information
Warning Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly by using Registry Editor or by using another method. These problems might require that you reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that these problems can be solved. Modify the registry at your own risk.
After you install the hotfix that is described in this section, you must create the DropBadMailIfNotNDR registry entry. If
the DropBadMailIfNotNDR value is
set to 1, Exchange 2003 routes the NDR to the Exchange.Bad
folder of the Lotus Notes server. Depending on the number of NDRs and the size of the NDRs, the hard disk volume of the Lotus Notes server may be affected. You must regularly examine
the Exchange.Bad folder and the hard disk volume.
To create and to enable
the DropBadMailIfNotNDR registry entry, follow these steps:
- Click Start, click Run,
type regedit, and then click
OK.
- Locate and then select the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\LME-NOTES\Parameters\
- On the Edit menu, point to
New, and then click DWORD Value.
- Type
DropBadMailIfNotNDR, and then press ENTER.
- Right-click DropBadMailIfNotNDR, and then click
Modify.
- In the Edit DWORD Value dialog box, click
Decimal, type 1 in the Value
data box, and then click OK.
- Quit Registry Editor.
