Hotfix information
A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.

Restart requirement

You must add a registry entry that is named
Return All Address Types
in Registry Editor, and then must restart your SMTP service after you apply this software update. To add the
Return All Address Types
registry entry, follow these steps:
- Click Start, click Run,
type Regedt32.exe, and then click
OK.
- Locate the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlset\Services\SMTPSvc\Parameters
- Click the Edit menu, point to
New, and then click DWORD Value.
- In the details pane, input Return All Address
Types.
- Right-click Return All Address Types, and
then click Modify.
- In the Edit DWORD Value dialog box, click
Decimal, type 1 in the Value
Data box, and then click OK.
- Quit Registry Editor.
File information
The English version of this fix has the file attributes (or
later) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these
files are listed in coordinated universal time (UTC). When you view the file
information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC
and local time, use the
Time Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.
