You do not receive any results when you try to use Collaboration Data Objects for Exchange (CDOEX) in an event sink application in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server or Microsoft Exchange Server 2003. This behavior occurs when you try to retrieve the recipient list from a message that has both internal and external Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) recipients.

Restart requirement

You must add a registry entry that is named in Registry Editor, and then must restart your SMTP service after you apply this software update. To add the registry entry, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, click Run, type Regedt32.exe, and then click OK.
2. Locate the following registry key:
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlset\Services\SMTPSvc\Parameters
3. Click the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
4. In the details pane, input Return All Address Types.
5. Right-click Return All Address Types, and then click Modify.
6. In the Edit DWORD Value dialog box, click Decimal, type 1 in the Value Data box, and then click OK.
7. Quit Registry Editor.

File information

The English version of this fix has the file attributes (or later) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in coordinated universal time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.
