Local users cannot publish a report to a local share in Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2004

Symptoms

When a local user tries to publish a report to a local share, the report does not successfully publish. The local user receives the following error message in the ISA Server Management alerts pane:

Workaround

To work around this problem, specify a local path instead of a local share.

An example of a local path is DriveName:\ShareFolder.
An example of a local share is \\LocalServerName\ShareFolder.

Steps to reproduce the problem

  1. On the ISA Server 2004 computer, create a local user who is named User1.
  2. On the ISA Server 2004 computer, create a local network share folder.
  3. Grant User1 Write access only to the local share.
  4. In the ISA Server Management Console, create a new report.
  5. In the New Report Wizard, in the Published reports directory text box, type the name of your local shared folder.
  6. Click to select the Publish using this account check box, type the user name and password for User 1.
  7. Complete the New Report Wizard.
