Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2004 and Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 are designed to work closely together in your network environment to provide a more secure messaging environment.

Two common scenarios for helping to secure an Exchange Server 2003 deployment by using ISA Server 2004 are:
  • You have an Exchange Server 2003 deployment that consists of Exchange front-end servers in a perimeter network, and back-end servers in the Internal network.
  • You have an Exchange Server 2003 deployment that consists of Exchange front-end and back-end servers in the Internal network.
