A network logon that uses NTLM authentication does not update the lastLogonTimestamp attribute in the Active Directory schema of a Windows Server 2003-based domain controller

Symptoms

When a client computer performs a network logon that uses NTLM authentication against a Microsoft Windows Server 2003-based domain controller, the network logon does not update the lastLogonTimestamp attribute in the Active Directory schema of the domain controller. However, the Kerberos authentications that are performed by the client computer update the lastLogonTimestamp attribute as expected.
