PRB: Oleacc.dll does not display the name for a DLGC_BUTTON window on computers that are running Windows XP and Windows Server 2003

Symptoms

When you query the name of a DLGC_BUTTON window by using the Inspect tool on computers that are running Microsoft Windows XP or Microsoft Windows Server 2003, the tool returns the following:
Name: none [false]
The Inspect tool is included with the Microsoft Active Accessibility 2.0 Software Development Kit (SDK) Tools.

Steps to reproduce the problem

  1. On a computer that is running Windows XP, verify that the Oleacc.dll file is version 4.2.5406.
  2. At a command prompt, run a Microsoft Windows Installer (.msi) file that contains DLGC_BUTTON windows. To do this, run the following command:
    msiexec /i FileName.msi
    For more information about how to create a simple Windows Installer package that installs an application, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
  3. In the Microsoft Active Accessibility 2.0 SDK Tools, start the Inspect tool.
  4. Move the mouse pointer over the window. The message that is mentioned in the "Symptoms" section appears as the Name attribute.
  5. Repeat steps 1 through 4 on a computer that is running Microsoft Windows 2000 and that has Oleacc.dll version 4.2.3100. The window name appears in the Inspect tool.
