When you install Microsoft Host Integration Server 2004 on a Microsoft Windows Server 2003-based computer by using a console session or a Terminal Server session, you may not be able to find the Setup and configuration log files in the %TEMP% folder.
This problem is caused by the Host Integration Server 2004 Setup program. Originally, when you install Host Integration Server 2004 on a Terminal Server (Remote Desktop Connection), the Setup and configuration log files are put one level above the %TEMP% folder. Therefore, this problem occurs because the %TEMP% folder is removed after the terminal session ends.
However, this problem may also occur in a Windows Server 2003 console session. In this case, the Setup and configuration log files are still created one level above the %TEMP% folder "C:\DOCUME~1\Userid\LOCALS~1" when the log files should be created in the "C:\DOCUME~1\Userid\LOCALS~1\Temp" folder.

To work around this problem, locate the log files in the folder that is one level above the %TEMP% directory (C:\DOCUME~1\Userid\LOCALS~1).

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
