Note In some circumstances, you may want to return the system to its previous state; that is, you may want your system to again exhibit the problem that is described in the "Symptoms" section.
To do this, enable the option in your printer to send documents directly to the print device and not to spool the documents. To enable the option in your printer to send documents directly to the print device, follow these steps:
- Right-click your printer name, click Properties, and then click the Advanced tab.
- Click to select the Print directly to the printer check box, and then click OK.
You may want to enable the setting in your printer to send documents directly to the printer. This may be useful in the following scenarios:
- After you apply the hotfix, you notice a problem. You notice that the printer driver expects the old spooler behavior and does not correctly handle the new spooler behavior.
- You want to avoid spooling the document to disk. For example, you may be using the printer as a gateway to another protocol.
