Your File and Print Services for Netware installation is not completed successfully on a Windows 2000 Server or a Windows Server 2003

Symptoms

You experience the following symptoms if you install Microsoft File and Print Services for Netware 5.0 on a Microsoft Windows 2000 Server-based computer or on a Microsoft Windows Server 2003-based computer:
The installation is not completed successfully. However, you do not receive an error message.
The File and Print Services for Netware service is listed in the Services tool and is configured to run under the Local System account.
The supervisor account is not listed in Active Directory Computers and Users if the computer is a domain controller. If the computer is a member server, the supervisor account is not listed in Local Users and Groups tool in Computer Management.
The File and Print Services for Netware account is not listed in Active Directory Computers and Users if the computer is a domain controller. If the computer is a member server, the File and Print Services for Netware account is not listed in the Local Users and Groups tool in Computer Management.
The NW Compatible tab is not displayed in the UserName Properties dialog box when you view the properties of a user.

Cause

This problem occurs when one or more of the following conditions are true:
The supervisor account password that is entered during the installation does not meet the complexity requirements of the local computer's Password Policy policy settings.
The File and Print Services for Netware account password that is entered during the installation does not meet the complexity requirements of the local computer's Password Policy policy settings.

Resolution

To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
1.Remove File and Print Services for Netware. To do this, follow these steps:
a. Right-click My Network Places, and then click Properties.
b. Right-click Local Area Connection, and then click Properties.
c. Click the Microsoft File and Print Services for Netware service, click Uninstall, and then click Yes.
2.Reinstall File and Print Services for Netware. For additional information about how to install File and Print Services for Netware, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

3.When you are prompted to enter the password for the supervisor account, use a password that meets the complexity requirements of the local computer's Password Policy policy settings.
4.When you are prompted to enter the password for the account that is used to run File and Print Services for NetWare, use a password that meets the complexity requirements of the local computer's Password Policy policy settings.
To view the complexity requirements of the local computer's Password Policy policy settings, follow these steps:
1.Click Start, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Local Security Policy.
2.Double-click Account Policies, and then click Password Policy.
