Symptoms

You cannot use a Microsoft Network Monitor trace to capture frames on a Microsoft Windows Server 2003-based computer that has multiple processors. This symptom occurs when many frames are being sent from the computer that is running the Network Monitor trace.

Cause

This problem is caused by a software defect in the Nmnt.sys file. The Nmnt.sys file is used by Network Monitor to capture frames.

Resolution
