Consider the following scenario:
 | You use a computer that has a 64-bit chip set. |
 | The computer is running a 32-bit
version of Microsoft Windows Server 2003 with Service Pack 1 (SP1). |
 | The computer has less than 4 gigabytes (GB) of memory. |
 | You use the Hot Add Memory feature to add random access memory (RAM) to the
computer. |
 | After you add RAM, the total amount of RAM is equal to or larger than 4 GB. |
In this scenario, the computer stops responding. For
example, when you use the Hot Add Memory feature to add 2 GB of
RAM to a computer that already has 2 GB of RAM, the computer may stop responding. When this problem occurs, you may receive a "Stop 0x0000007F" error message.
