Adding the Account Number on the POP Purchase Order Status Detailed Report

Question:

What are the steps to modify the POP Purchase Order Status Detailed Report ( Reports - Purchasing - Analysis ) in Report Writer to include the Account Number assigned to each PO?

Answer:

Go into Report Writer ( Tools - Customize - Report Writer ).



Opening the Report:

Click on the Reports icon from the top menu bar.

From the Original Reports side, highlight the POP Purchase Order Status Detailed Report and choose insert. If the report is already on the modified reports side, highlight it and Delete it before inserting from Original Reports.

Then on the Modified Reports side, highlight the same report and choose the Open button.

In the Report Definition window choose the Layout button.



Calculated Fields:

In the Toolbox choose Calculated Fields from the drop down list.

Then choose the New button.

In the Calculated Field Definition window, type Account Number as the name.

For the Result type choose String from the drop down list.

The Expression Type should be Calculated .



In the functions section:

Place your cursor in the Calculated Expression

Choose the Functions tab.

Click on the radio button for User-Defined.

Click on the drop down list for Core and choose System .

Click on the drop down list for Functions and choose RW_GetAccountNumber .

Choose the Add button.

Choose the Fields tab.

Click on the drop down list for Report Table and choose Purchase Order Line .

Click on the drop down list for Table Fields and choose Inventory Index and choose the Add button.

The Calculated Expression should read: Function_Script(RW_GetAccountNumberPOP_POLine.Inventory Index)

Choose the OK button.

In the Layout of the Report, Click on the H2 (little white box) and drag the section down one line.

Bringing fields onto the report:

In the Toolbox choose Calculated Fields from the drop down list.

In the scrolling window find Account Number and drag it into the H2 section on the report.

Leaving Report Writer:

Choose the X from the top right corner of the Report Layout window.

Save your changes.

Click OK in the Report Definition window.

From the top menu bar, choose File - Great Plains Dynamics .

Give users access to the modified report in the Security Setup window ( Setup - System - Security ) within Dynamics.
