The ITextDocument::Open method causes data corruption every 4,096th character if the value of the CodePage parameter is set to CP_UTF8

Every 4,096th character is corrupted if you use the ITextDocument::Open method to load a Rich Text Format (.rtf) file into a rich edit control.
