Microsoft Management Console stops responding when you try to change the default security of certain auxiliary classes on a Windows Server 2003-based computer

Symptoms

When you try to use the Active Directory Schema snap-in to change the default security of certain auxiliary classes on a Microsoft Windows Server 2003-based computer, Microsoft Management Console (MMC) stops responding.

The following error is logged in the Application event log:
