"Internal Error in Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers" in Integration Manager

SYMPTOMS

When launching Integration Manager, you may receive the following error message:

Internal Error in Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC drivers - [MS ODBC] [MS Access 97 Driver] Can't Open Database"

CAUSE

1. The program does not recognize the database.

2. The file may be corrupt.


RESOLUTION

To fix the corrupt file, try the following resolutions:

Resolution 1. Compact the database (see the Integration Manager Users Guide Chapter 8 or see Knowledge Base Article 867174 about how to compact IM.mdb after purging the log file.

Resolution 2. Repair the database (this is done in much the same way as compacting the database)

Resolution 3. If resolution 1 and 2 do not repair the file, restore a backup of the file.
