Issue

What is the Auto-Add Book Info check box used for in Company Setup, Book Setup and the Asset General Information record?

Resolution

Company Setup

If Auto Add Book Info is marked on the Company Setup, the Fixed Assets module will automatically add the Asset Book record for each asset for each book for which the Auto Add Book Info box is marked in Book Setup. This can be over-ridden by unmarking the Auto Add Book Info in the Asset General screen. When this is marked in Company Setup, it will then be automatically marked on the Asset General Information record when you open that window to add a new asset.

Book Setup

If the Auto Add Book Info box is marked in Book Setup and it is also marked in Company Setup and on the Asset General Information record, this book (and its default depreciation rules for the class) will be automatically added for any new asset that is added. It is typically marked, except when initially converting prior depreciation balances.

Asset General Card

The Auto Add Book Info for the Asset General Information Card is there so that you have the option of turning off this feature when adding an asset. If the Company Setup has Auto Add Book Info marked, it will default on the Asset General Information Card as marked.
