Error "The posting date must be on or before the exchange rate's expiration date" when voiding a Multicurrency transaction

TechKnowledge Content

I am trying to void a historical multicurrency payment in Payables Management. When I try to change the posting date, I receive the following error: "The posting date must be on or before the exchange rate's expiration date." What is causing this error?

The system uses the exchange rate attached to the transaction when it was entered into the system when you try to void the transaction. You will get this error if the Exchange Rate has expired. To correct this, modify the rate using the following steps:

1. Cards - System - Exchange Table. Enter the Exchange Table attached to the transaction.

2. Locate the rate used for the transaction which is being voided. Highlight the rate.

3. Type in the posting date desired for the transaction in the Expiration Date field. Click Modify.

4. Save the changes to the Rates, and then go back and void your transaction.
