Entering Trade Discounts for Credit Memos

TechKnowledge Content

Issue:

Can I enter a trade discount amount for a credit memo? How does a trade discount affect a credit memo?

Resolution:

You can enter a trade discount amount for a credit memo in the Receivables Transaction Entry window (Transactions|Sales|Transaction Entry). The trade discount amount will decrease the credit amount. Trade discounts aren't calculated automatically for credit memos. Trade discounts are calculated automatically if the customer is set up to receive trade discounts and if you're entering a sales/invoice. The trade discount also will be calculated on returns; this is to ensure that the customer receives a credit or refund only for the actual amount paid.
