Table Hierarchy Inconsistency when printing a report

TechKnowledge Content

Issue

When I try to print reports on just one workstation, I am receiving a Table Hierarchy Inconsistency error. What do I do to be able to get this workstation to print reports?

Resolution

First, look to see where the REPORTS.DIC file is located. This can be verified by looking at the DYNAMICS.SET file. If it is located on the server, make sure you do not have one on your local workstation too. If each workstation has its own REPORTS.DIC, try creating a new REPORTS.DIC and import in the modified reports. Reconcile Security Restrictions (Utilities-System-Reconcile) and try print the report again.

Also try to bring in new DYNAMICS.DIC. If the error still occurs, take security off of the modified report and print the default report. If the default prints without error, the modified report is damaged. Either restore an older REPORTS.DIC from a backup or delete the modified report, insert the report and modify it again. If this fails, copy over the Dynamics folder from a workstation that is running properly to the bad workstation. Make sure that the workstations are mapped to the same server. The last step may be to do a fresh workstation install on this workstation.
