Payables Summary Inquiry Window Not Matching the Aged Trial Balance with Options

Question:

I printed out the Aged Trial Balance with Options report under Reports - Purchasing - Trial Balance - Aged Trial Balance with Options, and comparing the amount due to the unapplied amount shown on the Payables Summary window, (Inquiry - Purchasing - Payables Summary). The totals do not match. What could be causing this?

Answer:

The unapplied amount shown on the Payables Summary window includes credit documents that are applied, but have not yet been posted. Therefore, for the two totals to match, be sure that you have not marked to exclude unposted applied credit documents on the Report Option of the Aged Trial Balance.
