How selections in Great Plains relate to HRM SS Business Portal

This article discusses the consequences of selecting Payroll, Human Resources, or both in the Great Plains Setup window.

You will only be able to select the modules you are registered for in Great Plains.
(click Site Settings , click Application Settings , click HRM Self Service , and then click Back Office ). These options will control how timecards update the Great Plains module.

1. If you select Payroll, all Pay Codes that Employees enter time against will be sent to the Payroll module in a batch.

2. If you select Human Resources, all Time Codes that Employees enter time against will be sent to the Human Resources module as transactions in the Attendance Transaction Entry window (click Cards , click Human Resources , click Employee - Attendance , and then click Transaction Entry ).

3. If you select both Payroll and Human Resources, then both the Time Codes and the Pay Codes may be used for time entry and will be sent to the appropriate module.

a. If Time Codes are linked to Pay Codes, the Time Code appears on the Employee's timecard to enter hours against. You can make sure how the Time Codes are linked in the Payroll Link window (click Setup , click Human Resources , click Attendance , and then click Payroll Links ).

b. If a Time Code and Pay Code are not linked, they will both display on the Employee's timecard to enter time against.

c. If a Time Code and Pay Code are not linked, but have the same ID, the Pay Code will display on the Employee's timecard to enter time against.

d. If a Pay Code has a Pay Type of Hourly, Overtime, Double-time, Vacation, Sick or Holiday, they will be available on the Employee's timecard to enter time against.

e. If a Time Code has a Time Type of Hourly, Overtime, Absent or Benefit (Vacation or Sick), they will be available on the Employee's timecard to enter time against.
