Question:

Why did I have to check link the Account Master file when I set up my functional currency in Multicurrency Setup (Setup-Financial-Multicurrency Setup)?

Answer:

When a functional currency is chosen, a message will be given to run the Check links process on the Account Master file. This will cause any activity without a Currency ID attached to get that of the Functional Currency. This will be helpful if a company had posted transactions prior to registering Multicurrency Management.
