Error message when you create a purchase order from the Purchase Request Resolution window in Microsoft Dynamics GP: "Error Creating Purchase Order. Step-5 Error 2"

SYMPTOMS

When you create a purchase order in the Purchase Request Resolution window in Microsoft Dynamics GP or in Microsoft Business Solutions - Great Plains, you receive the following error message:

Error creating Purchase Order. Step-5 error-2

CAUSE

This problem occurs because Multicurrency access was not given to the company ID.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, give access by using the Multicurrency Currency Access window. To do this, use the appropriate method.

Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0

1.	On the Microsoft Dynamics GP menu, click Tools , point to Setup , point to System , and then click Multicurrency Access .
2.	In the left side of the window, click the functional currency under Currencies .
3.	In the right side of the window, click to select the Access check box under the appropriate company name.
4.	Click OK .
5.	Try to create a purchase order in the Purchase Request Resolution window again.

Microsoft Dynamics GP 9.0 and Microsoft Business Solutions - Great Plains 8.0

1.	On the Tools menu, click Setup , point to System , and then click Multicurrency Access .
2.	In the left side of the window, click the functional currency under Currencies .
3.	In the right side of the window, click to select the Access check box under the appropriate company name.
4.	Click OK .
5.	Try to create a purchase order in the Purchase Request Resolution window again.
