Issue

How is the Change Order Total Amount in Change Order Entry calculated?

Resolution

The Change Order Total Amount is equal to the Total Variance Budget Amount in Budget Change Entry. The Total Variance Budget Amount is calculated differently depending on the project type and if the change order is tracking changes to the Baseline or Forecast. Please find the scenario below that best fits your situation:

Change orders for Time & Material projects for Baseline changes do not update the Change Order Total Amount.

Change orders for Fixed Price projects for Forecast changes do not update the Change Order Total Amount.

Change orders for Time & Material projects for Forecast changes calculate the Change Order Total Amount by adding the Revised Budget Total Amt and Revised Fee Total Amt from Change Order Entry.

Change orders for Fixed Price projects for Baseline changes calculate the Change Order Total Amount by adding the Revised Budget Total Amt and Revised Fee Total Amt from Change Order Entry.

Change orders for Cost Plus projects for Forecast changes calculate the Total Change Order Total Amount by adding the Revised Budget Total Amt and Revised Fee Total Amt from Change Order Entry.

Change orders for Cost Plus project for Baseline changes calculate the Total Change Order Total Amount by adding the Revised Budget Total Amt and Revised Fee Total Amt from Change Order Entry.
