Issue
How is the Original Contract Amount in Change Order Entry calculated?
Resolution
The Original Contract Amount is pulled from the Contract Amount field in Contract Maintenance. This should reflect the initial contract amount plus or minus change orders.
Example -If the initial Contract Amount when the contract was set up was $10,000, the Original Contract Amount in the first change order would be $10,000. If that change order adjusted the Contract Amount by $1000 and is processed in an Unapproved or Approved status, the next change order that is done would have an Original Contract Amount of $11,000.
Change orders for Time & Material and Cost Plus projects that track to baseline do not affect the Contract Amount. Change orders for Fixed Price projects that track to forecast also do not affect the Contract Amount.
