Creating a Banked Paycode Ceiling in Canadian Payroll

TechKnowledge Content

Question:

In Canadian Payroll, can I set a ceiling on my Banked Sick Code?

Answer:

Yes you can set a ceiling. To do so, go to Cards-Banked Paycodes and select the code you want to set the maximum for. Then, select the Amounts button. In the Payroll Banked-Other Amounts Canada window you should see fields for Ceiling Units and Ceiling Dollars. You can set one, or both, but the Ceiling units will be checked (and stopped first). If 100 is set at the Ceiling Units and an employee currently has 90 units banked, in the next pay run the system will only allow them to bank 10 more units. From that point they would not be allowed to bank any units until some were taken.
