Sorting the SOP Blank Picking Ticket by Customer Sales Territory in Microsoft Dynamics GP

Issue:

How can I Sort the SOP Blank Picking Ticket by Customer Sales Territory?

Resolution:

In Report Writer open the report and do the following:



1. Add the Customer Master table to the report.

· Click on the Tables button, highlight the Customer Master Address File , and click New .

· Select the RM Customer MSTR table and click OK . Then click Close on the Report Table Relationships window to return to the Report Definition window.



2. Add sorts, by Customer Name primary, Document Number secondary.

· Click the Sort button.

· Select RM Customer MSTR as the Report Table, Sales Territory as the Table Field, click on the Insert button so that it is displayed in the Sort By list. Highlight that entry in the Sort By list so that the next entry will be added after it.

· Select Sales Document Header Temp as the Report Table, SOP Number as the Table Field, click on the Insert button so that it is displayed in the Sort By list.

· In the Sort By list the Customer Name of table RM Customer MSTR should be listed first, SOP Number of Sales Document Header Temp as second. Click OK to save the Sort and return to the Report Definition window.



3. Add additional header and footer based on Customer Number.

· Click on the Layout button.

· On the Tools | Report Section Options window, click on the New button under Additional Headers .

· Provide a name such as Sales Territory, then select RM Customer MSTR as the Report Table, Customer Name as the Field.

· On the Header Options , click on Suppress When Field is Empty , choose (C) Supress Band as the calculated field, then click OK to save the new header. On the Additional Headers section you should now see this new header.

· Click on the New button under Additional Footers .

· Provide a name such as Sales Territory, then select RM Customer MSTR as the Report Table, Customer Name as the Field.

· On the Footer Options , click on Suppress When Field is Empty , choose (C) Supress Band as the calculated field, then click OK to save the new footer. On the Additional Footers section you should now see the new footer with Back Order listed next. Click OK to save the information.

· In the layout, shorten the new H1 section to one line by clicking on H1 from the gray panel on the left side, and holding down the button move up until the displayed dashed line indicates the section is the wanted size.

· In the layout, shorten the new F6 section to one line by clicking on F6 from the gray panel on the left side, and holding down the button move up until the displayed dashed line indicates the section is the wanted size.

· Close by clicking on the Layout Window's X in the upper right, click Save to save the changes and return to the Report Definition window. Then click on OK to save the report.



Return to Dynamics/eEnterprise and grant access to the modified report in the Security Setup window ( Setup | System | Security ).
