Modifying The Size Of The Payables Check With Stub On Top

Techknowledge Content

Question:

I am attempting to print the Payables Check with Stub on Top to a dot-matrix printer, and the printer is attempting to print the report as 8.5 " x 11" even after I created a custom paper size of 8.5" x 7". I made sure that in File > Print Setup that I had specified to use the custom paper size, but it still isn't working properly. What can I do to fix this problem?

Answer:

You will need to access Report Writer (Tools > Customize > Report Writer), and open the report layout for the Check with Stub on Top. Then, go to Tools > Report Section Options, and highlight the Remittance Header. Next, click on the 'Open' button to open the Header Options window. In this window, change the 'Records Per Report Body' option from 12 to 8. Then, close the report and save your changes. Next, go back to Dynamics and grant security to the modified report. Go to Setup-System-Security and choose your user id, Modified Reports for the Type, and Purchasing for the Series. Then double click on the Check with Stub on Top report which will put an asterisk to the left of it meaning you have access to the modified report now. Then, you should be able to print the checks correctly.
