Summary Posting Journal vs. Aged Trial Balance

TechKnowledge Content

Question:

Why are my balances on the Payables Summary Inquiry Journal different than the PM Aged Trial Balance - Detail report?

Answer:

Verify the number of aging buckets defined in the Payables Managment Setup window. If there are more than four standard buckets (Current period plus 3 additional buckets), the PM Aged Trial Balance is probably off. All the PM Aged Trial Balance reports only print the first four aging buckets, whereas the Payables Summary Inquiry Journal includes all buckets. In order to balance these reports, use Report Writer to add the additional aging buckets to the PM Aged Trial Balance. For more information on adding the aging buckets, refer to the techknowledge titled Adding Additional Aging Periods to Payables Trial Balance.
