Account Missing Error in Fixed Assets

View products that this article applies to.

Issue

I am trying to run depreciation for all my assets. When I look under Inquiry | Fixed Assets | Financial Detail, I see the asset listed here. When I drill back over the transaction, I notice where my depreciation account should be listed, it says Account Not Found. I see the account on my asset card.

Resolution

1. Make sure that Require Default Account is marked and that 8 accounts have been entered in the Company Setup.

2. Make sure the assets have 8 accounts listed under Cards | Fixed Assets | Accounts.

3. Under Cards | Fixed Assets | Accounts, does the Account Group ID show up there? If the Account Group ID is there, the accounts are not yet saved to the asset, thus returning an account missing error. If that is the case, hit the save button at this screen to resave the accounts.
