Question:

Why is it that sometimes I can see Subassembly Components on the Assembly Preview and sometimes I can't using Microsoft Dynamics GP?

Answer:

When the stock method on your Bill is "Build if Necessary," the stock quantity is displayed during the copy process on your Assembly Entry (not released status). If you print the Assembly Preview Report, you will not see the components for the subassemblies because they are being pulled from stock and the subassembly doesn't need to be built.

If you change the status of the Assembly Entry to "Released," the stock and assemble quantity are updated during the allocation process. When you print the Assembly Preview Report now, you will see the components of the subassemblies that have a quantity in the assemble section of the Assembly Entry. When the stock method on your Bill is "Stock," the stock quantity is displayed during the copy process and when the stock method on your Bill is "Build," the assemble quantity is displayed during the copy process.
