To resolve this issue, change the Toolbar settings, or delete the WebBrowser registry key.
Method 1: Change the Toolbar settings
To change the Toolbar settings:
- Start Internet Explorer, click View and then point to Toolbars.
- If there is not a check mark next to Address Bar, click Address Bar to place the check mark. If there is a check mark next to Address Bar, click Address Bar to remove the check mark, and then click Address Bar to place the check mark.
- If the Address bar is in the upper right corner and not available, right-click Address, and then click Lock the Toolbar to remove the check mark.
- Click Address, and then drag the Address bar where you want it.
If the problem is still not resolved, go to Method 2.
Method 2: Delete the WebBrowser registry key

How to back up and restore the registry in Windows
To delete the WebBrowser registry key:
- Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.
- Locate the following registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Toolbar
- Right-click the WebBrowser key, click Delete, and then click Yes.
- Open Internet Explorer, click View, and then point to Toolbars. The toolbar default settings are restored.
