More information

In ISA Server, the Content Download Jobs feature updates the ISA Server cache with Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) contents that may be requested by Web Proxy clients. In Microsoft ISA Server 2000 you cannot download content from the same URL more than one time per day. However, you can configure ISA Server 2004 to retrieve information from the same URL several times per day to keep your cached content more current. You can specify the daily content download frequency in minutes or in hours.

To configure a content download job in ISA Server 2004:
1.Click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft ISA Server, and then click ISA Server Management.
2.Expand ISAServerName, expand Configuration, and then click Cache.
3.In the right pane, click Content Download Jobs.
4.In the Tasks tab, click Schedule a Content Download Job.

If you have not yet enabled the Scheduled Download Jobs system policy configuration group, you may receive a Schedule Content Download Jobs dialog box. Click Yes to configure the system policy settings, and then click Apply in the Content Download Jobs pane to apply the changes. After the changes have been applied, click Schedule a Content Download Job on Tasks tab.

The Content Download Job Wizard starts.
5.In the Content Download Job Name box, type a name, and then click Next.
6.On the Download Frequency page, click Daily, and then click Next.
7.On the Daily Frequency page, click Job start date and Job start time, click Repeat every, enter the frequency in minutes or hours that you want the job to run, and then click Next.
8. On the Content Download page, type the content location URL in the boxes for the Download content from this URL field. Under Job Limits, click the options that you want, and then click Next.
9.On the Content Caching page, click the options that you want, and then click Next.
10.Click Finish.
