Description of the Excel 2000 post-Service Pack 3 hotfix package: February 26, 2004

This article describes the Microsoft Excel 2000 issue that is fixed in the Excel 2000 post-Service Pack 3 hotfix package that is dated February 26, 2004.

Issues that are fixed in the hotfix package

The following issue is fixed in this hotfix package, but was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

• When you click a hyperlink in Microsoft Internet Explorer to open an Excel workbook that contains external links in Excel 2000, Internet Explorer may appear to stop responding. This problem may occur if the Excel workbook opens a dialog box that requires user input. If the dialog box does not open as the active window (in the foreground), or if the Excel button on the Microsoft Windows taskbar does not flash to indicate that user input is required, the problem may occur.

• The optimized and the full-file versions of this hotfix are a post-Office 2000 Service Pack 3 (SP-3) hotfix. To install the hotfix, you must have Office 2000 SP-3 installed.
