Symptoms

When you use McAfee VirusScan and the Volume Shadow Copy service to back up data on a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 computer, the computer may stop responding (hang). The following event may appear in the application event log during the backup process.

Cause

This issue may occur if you do not update McAfee VirusScan to the latest version. This issue is resolved in McAfee VirusScan version 7.1.0 and later versions.
