Hotfix activation
To activate this hotfix, follow these steps.
Warning If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.
- Click Start, and then click Run.
- In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK.
- Locate and then click the following subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Exchange
- If there is an OMA key, go directly to step 7.
- To create an OMA key, point to New on the Edit menu, and then click Key.
- Type OMA, and then press ENTER.
- Locate and then click the following subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Exchange\OMA
- On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click String Value.
- Type SMTP821FromAddress, and then press ENTER.
- Right-click SMTP821FromAddress, and then click Modify.
- Type your e-mail address in the Value data box, and then click OK.
Make sure that the e-mail address is less than 64 characters in length. Use the same format as the following sample e-mail address: someone@example.com. - On the File menu, click Exit to quit Registry Editor.
