The WTSSetUserConfig command causes a memory leak on Microsoft Windows Server 2003

If you run the WTSSetUserConfig command on a computer that is running Microsoft Windows Server 2003, the command causes a memory leak.

Hotfix Information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. To set configuration information for a domain user, you must specify the name of the primary domain controller in the call to WTSSetUserConfig. You can retrieve the name of the primary domain controller by using the NetGetDCName function.

Memory leaks may cause a program to run out of resources and may cause a program to quit unexpectedly. A memory leak occurs when memory that is allocated in a program is not returned to the operating system, although the program is no longer using the memory.
