Symptoms

Your domain controller may stop responding. In this scenario, your computer's CPU utilization and memory usage may be as high as 100 percent.

If you do not take any corrective action, the server does eventually return to standard operation.

Cause

This issue may occur if a malicious user launches a denial of service attack by sending a specially crafted Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) message to the Active Directory directory service.
