Symptoms

When a message is sent repeatedly through Microsoft Exchange Connector for Lotus Notes, the message may develop text formatting problems. Every time that the message is sent, the word-wrap and the left-indent formatting may increase, until the message becomes almost unreadable.

Resolution

Service pack information

Hotfix information

More information

After you install the hotfix, you must add a new entry in the ..Exchsrvr\Bin\Exchconn.ini file. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Stop the Exchange Notes Connector.
  2. Open the Exchconn.ini file in Notepad, and then locate the [LME-NOTES] section.
  3. Add the following entry in the [LME-NOTES] section of the Exchconn.ini file:
    RESIZECOLUMN=1
    FIRSTCOLUMNREDUCTION=100
    INDENTATIONREDUCTION=100
  4. After you make the change, save the Exchconn.ini file, and then restart the Exchange Notes Connector.

Status

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section. This problem was first corrected in Exchange Server 2003 Service Pack 2.
