On a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 cluster, the scheduled tasks for the Shadow Copies of Shared Folders feature may not run.

This behavior occurs after failover from one node to another node in a cluster if the %systemroot% variable is different on the nodes in the cluster. For example, if the %systemroot% variable on node 1 points to C:\Windows, and if the %systemroot% variable on node 2 points to C:\Winnt, the scheduled task does not run after a failover from node
1 to node 2.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section of this article.

The Shadow Copies of Shared Folders feature uses scheduled tasks to create shadow copies on a user-defined schedule. The Shadow Copies of Shared Folders feature also
supports clusters, and the scheduled tasks will failover from node to node as necessary.
