UsrClasses hive does not unload during logoff because of an intermittent handle leak in Spoolsv.exe

Symptoms

When you log off, the "saving your settings" phase takes longer than one minute, and the user profile may not unload. You may also receive the following event message in the event log:

Type: Error
Event Id: 1000
Source: Userenv
Description: Windows cannot unload your registry file. If you have a roaming profile, your settings are not replicated. Contact your administrator.

Hotfix information

Windows Server 2003

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing.
