Cause

The Trend Micro scan engine software scans all the types of files in the scan list. If you try to close the Access database file while the file is being scanned, you may receive the error message that is mentioned in the "Symptoms" section.

More information

In a multi-user environment that has the Trend Micro Scan Engine software installed on the computers, your client computers may experience slow performance when you try to open the Access 2000 database file and you try to open the Access 2000 database objects. However, if you install Microsoft Office 2000 Service Pack 3 on the client computers, the performance may improve.

The performance may also improve if you try to open the Access 2000 database by using the Network Scan Switch (Netscan.exe) utility. Netscan.exe is a command-line utility. Netscan.exe works in conjunction with Trend Micro OfficeScan Corporate Edition 5.0. Trend Micro OfficeScan Corporate Edition 5.0 is the Trend Micro antivirus software. Netscan.exe can turn the network real-time scan feature of OfficeScan clients on and off. Netscan.exe accepts the on parameter or the off parameter as the input parameter and then switches the network scan correspondingly, as in the following examples:
To turn on the OfficeScan client Network Scan function, run the following command from the command prompt:
netscan on
To turn off the OfficeScan client Network Scan function, run the following command from the command prompt:
netscan off
