More information

Microsoft Office 2000 and all stand-alone versions of the Office 2000 products include the 7.0 version of Microsoft OLE DB Provider for OLAP Services. To configure Excel 2003 to use the older version, add the
MSOLAPVersionDependent
entry to the registry. To do so, follow these steps.

WARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk. Follow these steps, and then quit Registry Editor:
  1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
  2. Locate and then click the following key in the registry:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Excel\Options
  3. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD.
  4. Type MSOLAPVersionDependent, and then press ENTER.
  5. On the Edit menu, click Modify.
  6. Type 1, and then click OK.
Note You must restart Excel 2003 for the change to take effect.
